I can spend hours and hours at vide-greniers (flea markets). Yes, I love them. During the summer holiday, after our tandem trip, we went to Île d’Oléron for the weekend. One morning, we went to a vide-grenier. Since I try to buy less at flea markets these days, I took pictures of things I wanted buy but resisted.

Not pictured are a few things I couldn’t resist and brought them home ; )

A view from the helicopter ride.

Oléron oysters. Many many of them went into my belly : )

A very photogenic lighthouse of Oléron.

MOMENTS / MIMIZAN - angdoo.com/blog

Several weeks flew by without me posting anything here. There are many stories to share with you here, but time flew by between lack of sleep during working in Amsterdam and catching up on sleep back home in Paris. Time is a strange thing which often makes me sad and melancholic.

Yesterday, Mattie and I arrive in Bordeaux to start our summer holiday. Next coming weeks, we will travel between Mattie’s family houses in Bordeaux, Montalivet, Mimizan and take off with our tandem bike soon to where there are small empty roads, fruit trees, animals, rivers and nature all around.

These photos are from last summer when we spent some days with Mattie’s mom in Mimizan. We are going there this weekend and I can’t wait : )

SUMMER 2014 / TANDEM - angdoo.com/blog

Going through some old photos in my computer, I came across film picture I took during our tandem summer trip in 2014. Mattie and I biked 10 days in French basque country in the sound of France. It was a tough ride since there were so many hills and mountains in this region (and tandem is a heavy bike with two people plus all the bags in the back), but that also comes with a beautiful landscape with amazing food.

A film camera makes you picky about the photos you take, so you photograph only those moments which are really special. Thanks to that each of these photos holds its stories and feelings which I still remember vividly. All the beautiful landscapes we biked through, animals we came across, picking fruits, swimming in the coldest but also the purest river in the world (or at least it felt that way that moment), cooking and eating in the nature, all the amazing camping spots we found, waking up in the tent…

Summer’s on its way, and I can’t wait for our next tandem adventure : )

SUMMER 02 / PAINT ON WALL- angdoo.com/blog

We are well into 2016, and I sincerely wish you all the best. After over stuffing myself during the Christmas season in Bordeaux with Mattie’s family, I was quite happy to return home and pick up my daily life where I left off. So as soon as I got back, I delved right into several personal projects – finishing up a short film, producing a tea towel collection, building shelves in the hallway, thinking about a upcoming exhibition, etc etc etc. This is when I should tell myself, one thing at a time! ; )

This is my first post of 2016, and perhaps it should be about my resolution or something along that line, but for me, start of a year is just a continuation of the year before. I don’t or at least try not to give too much importance to it. So I’m going to share my summer pictures which I’ve been meaning to share for a while now.

After our tandem trip, Mattie and I went down to Aureilhan, a small village next to Mimizan, for a few days to help Mattie’s mom renovating her farm house. Besides the renovation, we went mushroom hunting around the house and found gigantic mushrooms. You should know how much I love mushroom picking if you’ve read my other mushroom hunting adventures : ) Then we mowed the grass field on a tractor. We also painted around what used to be a place to cook up food for the pigs.

SUMMER / TANDEM - angdoo.com/blog

It is already December, and it is getting pretty cold where I’m living. Perhaps the thought of 2015 already coming to an end and the thought of time passing too quickly make things feel even colder. Sitting closely next to my newly bought radiator, I’m looking at my summer photos to warm up a little.

Mattie and I own a handsome tandem bike, and ever summer we go on a tandem-riding/wild camping trip somewhere in the south of France. It is a beautiful and freeing adventure. Previous trips, it was just two of us, but this year, we biked with friends.

HERBIER / SEASON BEGINS - angdoo.com/blog

The real summer has finally arrived in Paris! This means I head out on my bike with my fancy leaf collecting tin box (a present from Mattie last year), and go leaf hunting!

I have so many more leaves drying in my leaf presser at the moment. I feel very full and rich ; )

TANDEM ADVENTURE BEGINS - ANGDOO.COM/BLOG

Mattie and I are getting ready for the tandem trip, which we will depart tomorrow. This will be our fourth trip on our handsome tandem. Our previous trips were around Dordogne in southwestern France. This time we are planning out trip in Pays basque (French Basque Country). I hear it is beautiful down there, but also mountainy. We shall see : )

The trip will be about 10 days long. We don’t really plan much about our path. All I know is that we will bike, enjoy the nature, pick fruits and vegetables, swim naked in the river, take naps under the trees, visit stunning villages and camp in the wild.

I won’t be able to post here while I’m on the trip, but I’ll update on Instagram from time to time so follow our trip there : )
